What is Industrial Mathematics?

Industrial Math is the application of Mathematics to real problems coming directly from business, industry, or government. The methods used can include modeling, optimization, data analysis, forecasting, and cost/risk analysis.

In this course, students will work together in groups to solve problems from industry. For more information, take a look at the Course Info.

This is not an ordinary course:

Students will solve actual real-world problems provided by industrial partners external to the university (problems from business, industry, and government). This course also carries a research intensive designation (see description in the syllabus).

The course is heavily geared toward the projects themselves, and each group of 3-4 students will receive their own semester-long project.
